Common Firearms Offenses
Felony Firearm (750.227b)
Possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony. Carries a mandatory 2-year prison term served consecutively to the underlying felony.
Concealed Weapons (750.227)
Carrying a concealed pistol or dangerous weapon without a license. A felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
Felon in Possession (750.224f)
Prohibits those with prior felony convictions from possessing firearms. A felony punishable by up to 5 years.
Unlawful Discharge (750.234b)
Intentionally discharging a firearm at a dwelling or occupied structure. A felony punishable by up to 4 years.
Prohibited Weapons & Devices
Under MCLA 750.224, it is a felony to manufacture, sell, or possess certain prohibited items, including machine guns, silencers (mufflers), metallic knuckles, and bludgeons. Additionally, the conversion of a semiautomatic firearm to fully automatic is a serious felony carrying up to 4 years in prison.
