Burning a Dwelling (750.72)
Willfully burning an occupied or unoccupied house or its contents is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Other Real Property (750.73)
Burning other buildings or real property is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Insured Property (750.75)
Burning property with the intent to defraud an insurance company is a felony punishable by up to 10 years.
Personal Property (750.74)
Penalties range from 93-day misdemeanors to 10-year felonies depending on the value of the property destroyed.
Specialized Arson Charges
