341 Meeting of Creditors
What to Expect and How to Prepare for Your Trustee Meeting
Understanding the 341 Meeting
The "341 Meeting" is a mandatory meeting with the Bankruptcy Trustee to review your financial schedules. While it may sound intimidating, it is typically a brief, non-adversarial process held at the Trustee's office rather than a courtroom. No judge will be present.
The Trustee usually schedules about six meetings per hour, meaning your specific case may only take about 10 minutes. The goal is simply to ensure your bankruptcy information is accurate and complete.
What to Bring to Your Meeting
If you have already provided these documents to our office, you generally only need to bring your ID and Social Security card.
- Identification: Driver's License or other government-issued photo ID.
- Social Security: Original Social Security card or official proof of your SSN.
- Income: Your 6 most recent pay stubs.
- Asset Titles: Titles for all vehicles, boats, RVs, or mobile homes.
- Insurance: Proof of insurance for all vehicles or boats.
- Real Estate: Deeds and mortgages for any real estate owned (with Liber/Page stamps).
- Tax Info: Latest tax statement showing the State Equalized Value (SEV) of your property.
